The art of forming a pact is ancient on Urtholm, predating The End as far as anyone can tell. The practices somehow survived and have been passed down through generations of those willing to learn how to create contracts. Pact Masters are adept at interpreting rules, guidelines, and laws that have been stated. They are sought after and trained in different communities to create written and social laws for those in the community to uphold.
The creation of a pact has four parts, each named after a part of the Exalted Arcanum.
The Intent Stated: A true bearing of the intent on what the contract means for all parties involved. It is difficult to create deception within The Intent Stated, though it is not impossible.
The Ink Dried: The physical manifestation of the contract that exists to binds together the parties involved in the contract.
The Word Spoken: The spiritual agreement between all parties that the intent is agreeable and that the contract is mutually beneficial to all parties.
The Signature Signed: The final step of a contract where the parties sign the contract in ways that they are able. The signature does not need to be a physical statement, it can also occur as a magical manifestation of the party's agreement.
Power is a Pact Master’s most important stat that most of their abilities and traits revolve around, with a growth cap of 8.
This calling revolves around convincing other characters (or creatures that can understand it!) to work for it. Alone, the calling doesn’t have much use but with the power of friendship and magically binding contracts, they are a force to be reckoned with.
While a contractee is within medium range of you, as long as both of you are consenting, damage to either of you may be split evenly between both of you. The contractee takes any uneven additional amounts.
